Vintage and Made
Yesterday I had the opportunity to play the Vintage and Made Fair in West Des Moines, IA. It's really the coolest craft type fair I've ever been too. Think Pinterest, in real life, plus one. I made it in time to chow down a mean bleu burger and do a quick walk before hitting the stage. It's an interesting venue. Much like playing a restaurant, or a mall, the crowd can change constantly. They have benches for people to rest and listen, more likely resting than listening, but t

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!
Remember those old monster truck rally tv commercials? I, actually don't. But, that's ok! This Sunday, I'll be playing at Vintage and Made Fair, a fantastic fair where you can get all your vintage, and hand made accessories, toys, decor, brick-a-brack, and music... and beyond! I know that isn't there saying, but it could be. Just saying. So many cool musicians are going to be playing there on Saturday, and Sunday. I wish I could go both days. Sadly, I'll only be there on Sund

On the Lake
This weekend, Dust (my bae) and I took off to the Lakes of the Ozarks for a little get away. The opportunity to share a cabin with his brother and his brother's friends, which is much cheaper than trying to rent one solely, had us hopping in the car on Friday, taking the short drive down, and spending the weekend seeing what the area had. It was my first experience. Dust had told me all about going there as a child, seeing these kitschy side show type attractions, a cool arca

Live music and good friends
Last night, I had the opportunity to share the stage with Ryan M. Brewer and Ben Clark at The Lost Canvas Gallery in Keokuk, IA. I've known Ryan for a few years, and I'm always in awe by his performances. He's good. Really goods. It's actually kind of funny how we met. I was on my very first tour, playing a dive bar in Memphis, TN. When I arrived at the venue, Ryan was already there, sleeping on the stage. He was the kind of musician that played the all the states, going wher

Anything but recording
For the past few weeks, I've done a lot of things, but none of them have been recording. Road trips, sewing, watching movies and tv shows, and jamming loud music, have all been highlights. One day, I started to listen and mix one of the songs, but it was short lived. I know it seems crazy and counter-intuitive to "do nothing", when I should have been hard at work. But sometimes, the hard work is just living. Today, I read through Rupi Kaur's "Milk and Honey", and my heart wep

New Website!
The new website is finally up and going. Hooray! My hope is to keep ya'll up to date on my next recording project as it goes on, and to get more shows in more places in the new year, so keep a look out for that. But, since we're here, let's get caught up! Over the last couple years, I've been writing, recording and playing music with some fine fellows in Ottumwa, IA, as part of two completely different sounding bands, a melodic hard rock band, The War I Survived, and a folk d
